Obituary by Owais Bayunus' daughter:

Inna lillahi Wa Inna illahi rajeoon

My father Owais Bayunus passed away on the evening of August 11th 2022 and by the will and grace of Allah swt he was buried on Friday August 12th 2022 right after Jummah prayers.

For those of you who didn't have an opportunity to meet him, my father was a trail blazer who left his homeland for his education, a husband who took his wife around the world and made memories and had experiences.  As a father he lived by example and never waivered in his morality and righteousness.

As a Muslim, my father loved his deen.  It was imprinted on his soul.  And his dedication as well as love for mankind made for an incredible combination.  He made sure everything he did had some benefit for others.

There wasn't a masaajid he prayed at where he didn't give sadaqah.  There wasn't a cause for the betterment of Muslims that he didn't participate in.  There wasn't a person who asked him for help that he didn't help.

My father being so nāyk (pious) always attracted the best people and always championed the best from them.  His love for his faith was his truest passion.  Living it and speaking of it was the most incredible gift he possessed.

As a parent he was the ambassador through life who always demanded the best from his children, loved them to a fault and never let us not realize the lesson to be learned from the hardest of times.

He loved the people of Minnesota.  He gave tirelessly to the Islamic Center of Minnesota in Fridley.  He performed  countless acts of service for the community. Performed Marriages, held Islamic Conferences, and ran the one of longest  Muslim Christian Dialogue with the Minnesota Counsel of Churches, just to name a few.

He moved to Round Rock , Texas two months ago.   He spent his last day at home with his family.  He gave us all a gift that was time spent in stories, compliments and allowed us to take care of him. He spent what none of us realized were his last moments with us.

The out pouring of support, love and endless acts of kindness has been life changing.  My family and I are indebted to the countless communities in the United States and aboard. You all have comforted and taken us in at our darkest time.  We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Allah swt in his Rahma gave us the gift of my father,  inshallah we can honor my father by taking the parts he gave us in an effort to pass it forward.

Jazakullah.  And please always keep my parents in your dua.
